SMARTY's soars past 1 million customers, with a 37% surge in yearly growth
SMARTY, a budget MVNO owned and operated by Three, achieved 37% growth from 2022 to 2023, surpassing 1 million customers.
The results were published in Three’s financial results for 2023. The growth trajectory is part of a broader success story for Three, which saw an increase in customers across all other segments, including its business to business sector and 5G Home Broadband product.
Since its founding in 2017, SMARTY has consistently been one of the cheapest networks in the UK with its SIM only deals. Coupled with the ongoing cost of living crisis, it’s therefore no surprise that SMARTY has been one of the most popular networks on CompareDial, with high engagement and conversion rates.
The growth of SMARTY also signifies a shift in the overall mobile market, with customers seeking more flexible and affordable plans. It’s often cheaper to buy a phone outright and couple it with a 30 day SIM only deal, as opposed to opting for an all in one phone contract, which tends to work out more expensive in the long run.
SMARTY’s 1 month plans offer a range of competitive benefits, including unlimited minutes and texts, 5G coverage, unrestricted tethering, free EU roaming (up to 12GB) and freedom to cancel or switch at any time.
