Following in the footsteps of O2’s refurbished refresh last week, Vodafone has introduced an additional grade rating for their refurbished phone lineup, available with Vodafone EVO contracts.

The new “Good” rating will be applied to refurbished phones that don’t quite meet the mark for the existing "Pristine" and "Great" grades.

Good graded phones will have full working functionality, however there may be small scratches, dents or other marks on the screen and casing. Voafone claims customers can save up to £216 compared to buying a new phone if they opt for a Good graded phone.

For comparison, Great, now the middle grade for refurbished phones, will have barely perceptible scratches and marks, with only minor signs of use. Customers can save up to £198 with Great graded phones.

The best grade, Pristine, will have no visible signs of use. These are most likely customer returns within the 14-day return period. Vodafone says customers can save up to £144 with Pristine phones.

The new Good grade rating is available for a range of flagship phones, including:

All of Vodafone’s refurbished phones, including the new Good grade, are available with Vodafone EVO contracts. Customers can choose to spread the cost of the phone between 3 to 36 months, and also specify the upfront cost.

In addition, all refurbished phones also come with the same benefits as new phones, including a 14-day return period and Vodafone’s Lifetime Service Promise, which includes Battery Refresh and Lifetime Warranty.

With Battery Refresh, Vodafone will monitor the health of the battery for free, and offer replacements for up to 3 years. Lifetime Warranty will protect customers against manufacturer defects, but not against accidental damage, loss or theft. Lifetime Warranty will be available for as long as the phone is paired with an Airtime Plan.

For complete peace of mind, Vodafone guarantees every refurbished phone undergoes a meticulous 32-point health check, and is also physically cleaned and sanitised.
