VOXI roaming explained for international & EU countries
You can roam in most countries around the world with VOXI.
However, as a consequence of Britain leaving the EU, VOXI now charge for EU roaming.
In order to roam in the EU, you will have to purchase a VOXI European Roaming Pass (from £2.25 per day), which will allow you to use your regular allowance, up to 20GB data per month.
For countries outside the EU, you may be able to purchase a VOXI Global Roaming Extra. You will be given a set amount of data, minutes and texts per month.

VOXI EU roaming - after Brexit
Since 23 June 2022, VOXI no longer offers free EU roaming (Republic of Ireland, Isle of Man, Iceland and Norway will continue to have free roaming, however).
Instead, you will have to purchase a VOXI European Roaming Pass, which will allow you to use your regular allowance in 47 European destinations for a set duration, as shown in the table below:
Duration | Cost |
---|---|
1 day | £2.25 |
2 days | £4 |
8 days | £10 |
15 days | £15 |
15 days is the maximum length for a European Roaming Pass, however if you're planning on going on holiday from longer than 15 days, you can purchase another European Roaming Pass after it expires.
In accordance with the fair usage policy, if your regular VOXI allowance has more than 20GB data, you cannot use more than 20GB data per month with a European Roaming Pass.
If you exceed your regular allowance or the 20GB limit, you can purchase a Data Extra (£3 for 1GB), which will work when roaming in the EU as long as you continue to have a European Roaming Pass enabled.
A European Roaming Pass will start from the moment you purchase one, and not from when it's first used in an EU destination.
The following 47 European destinations are eligible for the European Roaming Pass:
- Åland Islands
- Austria
- Azores
- Balearic Islands
- Belgium
- Bulgaria
- Canary Islands
- Croatia
- Cyprus (excluding Northern Cyprus)

Does VOXI have a fair usage policy when roaming?
If you're roaming in the EU with a VOXI European Roaming Pass, you cannot use more than 20GB per month of your regular data allowance.
If you go over this limit, you will need to purchase a Data Extra (£3 for 1GB) to continue using mobile data, or wait until the next month when your allowances reset. However, connecting to Wi-Fi for the internet will still work as normal.
In addition, you cannot roam for excessive periods within the EU, which is defined as 62 days or more within a 4 month period.
If you go over the 62 day limit, you will be sent a warning via text or email.
If you continue to roam in the EU 14 days after receiving a warning, you may be charged at a premium rate for further usage (your account must be topped up with credit):
- 3p per minute
- 1p per text
- £3.13 per GB
Will I be charged if I exceed my data allowance when roaming in the EU?
If you have a VOXI European Roaming Pass and you exceed your data allowance when roaming in the EU, or you go over the 20GB fair usage limit, you will not be charged.
However, your mobile data will stop working until your allowance resets at the start of the next month, or you purchase a Data Extra.
VOXI do not have an out of plan rate for data when roaming in the EU. You must purchase a Data Extra for the current month in order to continue using mobile data.
Data Extra when roaming in the EU
If you have a VOXI European Roaming Pass, and you exceed data allowance when roaming in the EU, or you go over the 20GB fair usage limit, you must purchase a Data Extra to continue using mobile data.
A Data Extra costs £3 for 1GB, and also works in the UK.
You have 30 days to use a Data Extra. Any remaining data after 30 days will be lost.
Once you have used your Data Extra allowance or it expires, you can immediately purchase another one. You can purchase multiple Data Extras in a single month or day.
Note that a Data Extra will only work in the EU as long as you also have a European Roaming Pass.
You can purchase a Data Extra through your VOXI account.
Can I roam outside the EU with VOXI?
Yes, you can roam in most countries outside the EU with VOXI.
You can purchase a Global Roaming Extra for 8 or 15 days, which gives you a set amount of allowances that can be used in 73 countries.
If you don’t want a Global Roaming Extra, or the country you are visiting is not eligible for the Global Roaming Extra, you will be charged at an out of plan roaming rate (see VOXI zones below).
VOXI Global Roaming Extra
Within 73 international countries, you can purchase a Global Roaming Extra, which gives you a set amount of allowances for data, minutes and texts, for either 8 days or 15 days.
You can purchase a Global Roaming Extra via your VOXI account, before or during your visit to an eligible country. Once purchased, the Global Roaming Extra will instantly be activated.
If you exceed the set allowances, you will be charged at an out of plan rate for roaming, unless you purchase another Global Roaming Extra. You can purchase multiple Global Roaming Extras per day or month - there are no limits.
Any calls you receive will be deducted from your minute allowances set by the Global Roaming Extra. You can use the allowances from the Global Roaming Extra to call and text back to the UK, as well as within the country you are currently in. You cannot call or text from one country to another - instead, you will be charged at an out of plan rate for this.

VOXI zones
If you’re visiting a country outside the EU, you will be charged at an out of plan rate, which can be expensive.
